What Is Our Procedure for Positive Cases at Buckner Retirement Services?

The team at Buckner Retirement Services recognizes that there is an increase in positive COVID-19 cases, both in Texas and in our communities. Sadly, many hospitals in the area are full and are forced to turn people away. As a result, we continue to urge residents and family members to stay alert in regards to health and safety. In addition, we advise that people stay self-aware of possible symptoms. We also ask each resident of our communities to assist in mitigating the risk of unknowingly transmitting the disease to those around them. To that end, we request that residents follow the following best practices, whether or not they are vaccinated:

  • Please wear a mask when you are in one of our indoor common areas. This practice may help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and other viruses.
  • If you are in an enclosed space, such as our bus, please wear a mask.
  • Practice social distancing whenever possible as you participate in our Senior Living activities.
  • Please practice social distancing while you are in our dining rooms and work to reduce the number of people at your table.
  • If you have recently been exposed to a person who has been diagnosed with COVID, please remain in your room or apartment.
  • Use hand sanitizer and wash your hands as often as possible.
  • If you’re experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please remain in your room and update your medical team or doctor. These symptoms may include shortness of breath, cough, fatigue, or a fever.
  • If you can, try not to invite guests to your apartment or living area. However, if you do have guests and want to eat together while they visit, please get a to-go meal that you can eat in your apartment.
